Diddy's Alleged Drug Mule Brendan Paul Has Felony Drug Charges Dropped After Completing Diversion Program

While Diddy's legal troubles mount, one of his alleged co-conspirators has caught a break. Brendan Paul, a former college hoops player and Diddy's lead assistant, has had felony narcotics charges against him dropped, thanks to his completion of a pretrial diversion program, TMZ reports.

The Arrest and Allegations

Brendan Paul, 25, was arrested in March at the Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport. A search of Paul's belongings revealed cocaine and marijuana candy, for which he was arrested on a felony count of drug possession.

Meanwhile, federal authorities raided Diddy's mansions in Miami and Los Angeles, raising the stakes in the investigation into the hip-hop mogul.

Paul's attorney, Brian Bieber, said at the time of the arrest, "We will be dealing with this case in the courtroom, not the court of public opinion."

No Deals With Federal Prosecutors

Despite initial speculation that Paul might strike a deal to testify against Diddy, federal sources have confirmed no such agreement was made.

On Tuesday, Florida prosecutors officially dropped all charges against Paul following his successful completion of the diversion program. As a result, he will face neither jail time nor probation.

Diddy's Legal Battle Continues

While the charges against Brendan Paul have been dropped, Diddy remains in his own legal battle. The 55-year-old music mogul is currently in the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center and recently had his third bail appeal denied.

US District Judge Arun Subramanian cited "compelling evidence" of violence and witness tampering as reasons for the denial. The judge also pointed to a 2016 hotel surveillance video showing Diddy allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie and evidence of Diddy violating communication rules from behind bars.

Prosecutors further said that Diddy had inmates' telephone access codes to facilitate unauthorized three-way calls, a factor in keeping him in custody.

Diddy's trial is scheduled for May 2025, and until then, the court stands firm on its position. Judge Subramanian's ruling emphasized, "The government has shown by clear and convincing evidence that no condition or combination of conditions will reasonably assure the safety of the community."

Final Thoughts
While Brendan Paul’s legal journey has come to an end, Diddy’s situation continues to unfold with serious implications. As the trial approaches, more details will undoubtedly emerge, shedding light on one of the most high-profile cases in recent years.
