On Monday, a big cheese from India's defense world, Commodore Balaji, had a chinwag with Kenya's Defense Principal Secretary, Patrick Mariru, at Nairobi's swanky Defence Headquarters. This get-together was all about making their defense buddy-buddy status even stronger.
Mariru talked up their friendship, mentioning how they've signed some important papers (MoUs) that show they're serious about working together. One cool deal is that they're helping each other build ships, with Kenya Shipyards Limited and Goa Shipyard Limited joining hands.
Mariru was pretty hyped about training soldiers together and doing military exercises to keep the pirates and other bad guys at bay in the big blue sea. He thinks this'll make both countries safer.
Commodore Balaji was all smiles too, saying thanks to the Kenyan government and promising that India's got Kenya's back. They want to keep sharing intel and doing more stuff together to keep the peace.
There were a bunch of important folks at the meeting, like India's Deputy High Commissioner to Kenya, Rohit Vadhwana, and some bigwigs from Kenya's defense department. Having all these VIPs there showed that the big bosses are really into making their defense friendship tighter.
So, these two countries are definitely on the same page when it comes to defense. They're going to keep helping each other out, sharing secrets, and making sure their soldiers are the best of the best. It's like they're forming a superhero duo to keep everyone safe and sound.
