China Faces Super Sad Stuff from This Big Storm Gaemi: 22 People Don't Make It

China Faces Super Sad Stuff from This Big Storm

So, it's like really bad news coming out of southeastern China right now. This crazy storm called Tropical Storm Gaemi has totally messed up the place and taken 22 people's lives. And it's not over yet, because there's seven more folks that we know of who've been killed, and three others who are still missing. It's all because of this storm that's been dumping a ton of rain everywhere.

Tropical Storm Gaemi first slammed into Fujian province on the Chinese coast and was like, "Oh, I'm just getting started." Then it went all the way inland and really went nuts in Hunan. For like, days now, it's been raining so hard that it's flooding everything and breaking stuff left and right.

Zixing City is like, the worst hit area. Four people didn't make it out alive, and three more are just gone. The rain was so intense that it basically destroyed a bunch of houses and made over 11,000 people leave their homes. It's like, super sad and people are still trying to clean up the mess.

And it's not just Zixing, because in some nearby places, there were these huge mudslides that killed three people. And, get this, one of those slides smacked into a place where people were just trying to have a nice vacation. So terrible, right? It's like the storm had a vendetta or something.

But wait, there's more. This river, the Juanshui River, had its banks break in two places in Xiangtan county. And because of that, more than 3,000 people had to leave their homes. They've kind of fixed one of the breaks, but it's still pretty dire.

Now, everyone's trying to help and fix things up. The government's out there working hard to make sure people are safe and have what they need. We're all keeping our fingers crossed that they can stop any more bad stuff from happening and start rebuilding.

This storm is like a big wake-up call about how strong nature can be and how important it is to be ready for it. We're all thinking about the people in China and hoping they can bounce back from this.
