Age Becomes a Hot Topic in the Trump vs. Biden Showdown

Washington, D.C.  – In a pretty big deal for American politics, Pres. Joe Biden (a sprightly 81) and former Pres. Donald Trump (not too far behind at 78) talked about their age during a super hyped debate on Thursday. With the big election coming up, everyone's wondering if these two gents are still fit to run the country.

When the question came up about their age and if they've still got what it takes to handle the job, neither of them gave a 100% convincing answer.

Biden, who's been in the hot seat about his mental and physical health, kind of skirted the issue before jumping to other stuff. He said, "I've been in politics forever, and now I'm the old guy. And this fella here is three years younger but not exactly on top of his game," poking fun at Trump, as the New York Times mentioned.

Trump, playing tough as always, talked about passing some brain tests and threw some shade at Biden's skills. "I'm totally healthy, let's just say that," he said, adding that Biden's golf game is pretty sad. "He says he can hit a ball 50 yards? Yeah, right," he boasted.

Biden played it cool and suggested they settle it with a golf match, saying he used to be pretty good at it when he was VP. "I'll play with you, but you gotta carry your own clubs," he challenged.

Trump didn't buy Biden's golf handicap, calling it "the biggest lie ever." So, Biden had to clarify that he's actually an eight handicap. Then Trump was all, "Let's not act like a bunch of kids here."

This little back-and-forth showed that a lot of people are worrying about how old these guys are and if they can still do the job. And as we get closer to the election, you can bet everyone's gonna be looking at them like hawks, checking if they're still up for the task.
