Biden Talks Trump and Democracy After Rally Shooting

So, Joe Biden had some things to say to everyone a day after this crazy stuff went down at a Trump rally. Some dude started shooting and, sadly, one person who was just there supporting Trump didn't make it, and two more are in really bad shape. Biden talked about his buddy Donald Trump and why everyone needs to chill with the whole violence thing, especially when it comes to politics.

What Biden Had to Say About Trump

Biden talked about the whole deal, saying he's happy Trump isn't hurt too badly. He actually called him to check up.

"Thank goodness, Trump isn't hurt much," Biden said. "I talked to him last night. He's doing okay, and me and Jill are keeping him and his family in our thoughts and prayers."

Then he talked about the 20-year-old guy, Thomas Matthew Crooks from Bethel Park, PA, who did the shooting. Biden didn't have nice words for him.

"This kid shot a former president, can you believe it?" Biden said. "Someone lost their life just for supporting a politician. That's not cool, America. We've been down this road before, and it's never ended well. Violence is never the way to go."

Getting Real About Political Aggression

Biden brought up other times things got nasty in politics, like that wild day at the Capitol on January 6, and some folks trying to kidnap that Michigan Governor, Gretchen Whitmer.

"Look, we've had politicians from both sides getting shot, a mob trashing the Capitol, a scary situation with Nancy Pelosi's husband, and a plan to kidnap a sitting governor," Biden pointed out. "We can't let this be normal. No way. We gotta keep our country from turning into a battleground."

Keeping the Peace and Democracy Alive

Biden wants everyone to remember that we're all Americans, and we need to act like it.

"Sure, we're gonna disagree," he said. "That's just how it is in our country. But we can't let our politics turn into a street fight, or worse. Politics should be where we talk things out and make decisions that follow our country's rules. We're all about decency and being nice to each other, not about getting all worked up and hating."

The Main Point

So, Biden's big message was to keep our cool and stick together, because that's what makes America great. This kind of drama doesn't help anyone.

"We've got to remember that we're all in this together," Biden said. "We've got to keep fighting for our beliefs without fighting each other. That's what democracy is all about."

After this sad event, Biden's words remind us to keep our heads and our hearts in the right place when it comes to politics.
